About

Us

Ray Fisher Pharmacy began operating in 1956. Known as the Late Night Pharmacy, they were open from 9:00 a.m. to midnight 365 days a year. In 1987 Nancy Asai became an on-staff pharmacist. In 1989 the original owner, Ray Fisher, announced his retirement. That’s when Nancy and her husband Randy decided to change their life forever and purchase the well-known and reputable business.

Over the years the energetic couple modernized the establishment, adding computer systems and expanding into the burgeoning home medical equipment business one wheelchair at a time.

The business continued to grow. In 1994 they relocated from the original 2,000 square-foot Blackstone and Gettysburg location to an 8,000 square-foot new location at First and Herndon. Within a few years Ray Fisher Pharmacy became the largest independent provider of medical equipment and supplies in the area.

In the meantime, the Asai family was also growing. With one son and two daughters, Randy and Nancy found themselves very involved with scouting, church, and school activities. They are very involved in the Fresno community, supporting local events and charities.

In 2008 Randy and Nancy felt the need, once again, to relocate the business, thereby improving operations and reducing cost. Ray Fisher Pharmacy relocated to its present location on North Blackstone Avenue just South of Herndon. The move to the new 13,000 square-foot retail/warehouse has proven to be an ideal location, providing the largest showroom of medical equipment in the San Joaquin Valley. And yes, the Ray Fisher Pharmacy is still filling prescriptions in-store and offering facility and home deliveries of meds.

Randy and Nancy have worked hard to maintain the Ray Fisher reputation of customer service and good selection and plan to continue serving the Valley with quality medical equipment and pharmacy services. Son Scott has joined the organization to help carry on the family tradition.

Asked what he believes made the company so effective over the years, Randy said, “Mr. Fisher started a good thing and we have been fortunate to keep it going based on service. I am very proud of our customer-oriented staff; that’s the backbone to any good company and our crew has certainly played a big part the Ray Fisher Pharmacy’s success story."
